Such a shame that this artwork by Jeremy Deller in Swansea is going to be lost. It was painted straight onto the brick wall of a building in the city centre in 2014, as part of the events to commemorate the centenary of Dylan Thomas’s birth. The building is now going to be demolished and the city council is saying that it was always only ever meant to be temporary anyway and it would be a real faff to try and preserve it when the building is knocked down. Would it really be that difficult to dismantle it and reassemble it elsewhere though? Or just recreate it? In a location where more people would see it would be good. But that lady in the car park in the rain didn’t care about poetry; she was just desperate to find her keys. #jeremydeller #swansea #dylanthomas #poetry #art #streetart
