Cap Rocat, a former fortress on the Bay of Palma in Mallorca, is one of my favourite hotels. Although I didn’t have time to stay there on my last trip – tragic – I did pop in for lunch and to have a look at the three Sentinel suites, which are new for this summer. They weren’t quite finished then but were already looking pretty spectacular. Architect Antonio Obrador has somehow managed to create these rooms right in the rock, making them even more James Bondish than the rest of the hotel. You go in through your own tunnel to a space which is all about looking out to sea – it feels like your own private view.
